The real planning for the jdi group took place in 2001. We decided to start our own firm because we believed there was a way to provide architecture and engineering by empowering staff to carry out what they were trained to do without being micromanaged. Our vision was to create an atmosphere that fosters creativity, collaboration, and respect while meeting our clients' needs.

At jdi, we recognize that "service to the client" is paramount to our success. We foster a "can do" attitude that starts at the ownership level and permeates throughout our organization. Our mission is to turn our clients' basic visions into working realities that address their wants and needs, and we accomplish this by developing design solutions through an ethical and moral process, meeting all applicable code requirements and safety standards. Our goal on each of our projects is to meet or exceed clients' expectations.

The name - the jdi group - relates to our general philosophy of "do what it takes to get things done" ... to listen to our clients' needs ... to create the best solution to our clients design issues ... to create an atmosphere of team work ... to respect the need for client confidentiality ... to deliver a quality design. Our name is derived from the premise of "Just Do It."
